LIVE IT, LOVE IT, BUILD IT

James’s long military career as an RAF Officer resulted in lots of time away from home. So after his retirement, we made the decision to reset our lives.  This began with a year long family trip where we travelled across Canada and America with our  two young children in our rather small self converted van.   Having spent  previous years working together on various property developments, whilst also in full time employment, James focused on this passion on our return.

 

He specialised his training in carpentry and electrics, concentrating his focus on small scale off grid projects.  After years of experience in planning adventures where kit organisation and attention to detail is critical, he ensures attention to detail and craftsmanship at every level.  He is methodical in his planning and ensures every design detail is well thought through to ensure the space is specifically tailored to your needs.

Having navigated the world from a suitcase for 14 years as British Airways Longhaul Cabin Crew, Sarah is passionate about travel and excellent customer service. She knows how important it is to accurately create small spaces of comfort for every journey and understands the specifications required to live comfortably and work effectively on a small scale.  She takes pride in building great relationships with our clients to understand their needs during the build and to offer ongoing after service care and support.

 

The combination of our time spent living in our original van build with our vast experience and love of  global travel,  we organically moved towards building vans for other like minded souls and thus Homesmith Campers was born.  We pride ourselves on utilising these skills along with our passion for van travel to offer unique solutions to clients’ needs.  Function and flexibility in a van allows easy living.  A place for everything and everything in its place.  

 

Travelling in our van enables us to not only offer practical advice but also to remain in the forefront of the ever changing face of adventuring overland.  We have worked together on many projects over our thirty years together, working well as a team with a combined mutual respect for each other's strengths, and weaknesses!
